Job Description:
  • Maintenance and enforcement of Building Code.
  • Review/approval of building products.
  • Review/approval of Building Permit Application documents
  • Certification of Building Contractors.
  • Supervision of building inspection and administrative staff.
  • Coordination of departments functions.
  • Engineering support to capital/repair projects.
  • Engineering support to other departments.
  • Communication with public on Building code matters.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned. 
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years relevant engineering and construction-related experience (vertical and horizontal).
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant supervisory experience.
  • Professional registration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Bahamas Building Code.
